  1. "E" (Editor) Command Help Screen
  2. ================================

  4.     You can use your own ASCII editor to quickly edit or modify any of
  5.     the ASCII files in the hypertext system.
  6.  
  7.     When a file is displayed, press the "E" key. This calls up a command
  8.     line, defaulting to the name of the last editor used, and followed
  9.     by the name of the current (displayed) file.
  10.  
  11.     If the editor name is wrong, simply enter the name of your editor,
  12.     and reenter the name of the displayed file (which will blank out),
  13.     and then press RETURN.  For example,
  14.               edlin {filename} (RETURN)
  15.  
  16.     You will go directly into your editor, and can modify the file.

  18.     When you save the file and exit the editor, you will see the file as
  19.     it was loaded and displayed, prior to edit. To see the new version,
  20.     use left arrow to backtrack, and then jump back to the file. You'll
  21.     see the new version when it is reloaded.
